International Audition for brass instruments - Corfu

In order to promote the great amount of young talented
musicians, the Music Ensembles of the City of Athens
inaugurated a series of concerts, entitled -Young Soloists
of Classical Music-. In this context, the 2st
International Audition for brass instruments
will be organised in Corfu, on 22th July 2009, in collaboration
with the Melos Brass Ionian Summer Music Academy.
Four young talented soloists from Greece and abroad,
among the participants of the courses, once selected
in Corfu, will be invited for a concert with the Symphony
Orchestra of the City of Athens, during the Athens Brass
Festival which takes place every year in November, at
the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron of Music). The dates
of the festival for 2009, are from 14 to 15 May. More on

ENTRY CONDITIONS
1. The Audition is open
to any brass musician of any nationality who participate
in the 7th Melos Brass Ionian Summer Music Academy in
Corfu and is under age of 25.
2. Candidates should provide
the following documents:
a. a fully completed
application form to be sent by June,15 2009, at the
latest, to the following e-mail address: aggppou@hotmail.com
b. a brief curriculum
vitae
AUDITION CONDITIONS
1. The
Audition will be held in Corfu on July, 22 2009, at
9.30 a.m. The test will be public.
2. Participants
shall perform in an order which the jury will decide
and announce on July 21, 2009. The participants should
contact the Secretariat of the Audition on July, 21
2008 by 5 p.m. at the latest.
3. Rights
on any Audition performances, recordings or filming
belong to the 7th Melos Brass Ionian Summer Music Academy
and no fee is payable to any participant on account
of these performances, recordings or broadcasting of
them.
4. All
winners are obliged to accept the concert engagements
which form an integral part of the prize.
5. Rights
on concert performances, recordings or filming belong
to the Athens Brass Festival and no fee is payable to
any young soloist on account of these performances,
recordings or broadcasting of them.
RULES
· Decisions of the jury are final
and are not subject to questions, revisions or appeal.
· The participants with the highest
score will receive the prize which is a concert with
the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Athens, at the
Athens Concert Hall, in November 2010.
· Each winner must announce in time
to the secretary of the Academy the piece that he/she
is going to perform in November 2010.
· The Athens Brass Festival will cover
the costs of full board and lodging for winners during
their stay in Athens in November 2010.
